The following motion, amended by Mr. Reid, was moved by Mr. Gr. F. C. Browne : — " Thair this Council recommends, in accordance with part 3 of the Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870, that a head race from Waitahuna River to Waitahuna Main Gully, thence to Manuka Creek, be constructed; and this Council in of opinion that the work should be constructed either by subsidy or by a guarantee of interest to any company or person who may execute the same, and to be subject to such cottditH»», as to supply of water as may be found necessary, " — Carried
