Thursday. 29th June.
Several motions were passed, and some proposals respecting the supplementary Estimates being referred to Government were negatived. The debate on Mr. Shand 's motion and Mr. Mervyn's amendment regarding the Estimates, was resumed. After various members had spoken, both were lost on a division. The House went into Committee of Supply, and a large nnmber of items were passed. Several divisions took place, and great obstruction to business was caused by Mr. Reynold's moving to report progress. This he said he intended to do at every possible opportunity until it was stated who were to be the members of the Government. This obstructive conduct drew from Mr. Bathgate the remark that Mr. Reynolds wag wasting the money of the people at the rate of £4 an hour; and Mr. Duncan said Mr. Reynolds was fond of referring to his 20 years' experience in the Council and Assembly, but certainly his conduct that night was such that he ought to be ashamed of himself. (Hear, hear.)
