The General Government have intimated their intention of consolidating the Goldfields Laws.
The Provincial Government have convened a meeting of mining delegates to be held in Dunedin. Wukatip, Dunstan, Teviot, Tuapeka, Mount Ida, and Switzers are each to return a re^ presentative. The election is to take place on May 4.
There was a shock of earthquake here about five minutes to four xliis afternoon. The direction of theelectric wave was e n .st to wewt.
