T HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, that in * A pursuance of authority vested in me by the Acting-Bishop of the Diocese of Dunedin, I have fixed Thursday, the t&h day of January next, aa the day for receiving nominations of Lay Candidates to represent the Tuapeka and Waitahuna Electoral District in the Diocesan Synod. Nominations to be sent in to me not later than noon on the day above-named. And I further give notice, that a meeting to receive the nominations of Lay Candidates, will be held at the Schoolroom, Lawrence, on Thursday, the sth day of January next, at 8 o'clock p.m. W. Every Layman, being a communicant of the age of 21 years or upwards, and who shall have signed the following declaration : " I do hereby declare that I am a member of the United Church of England and Ireland in New Zealand," shall be qualified to be elected as a lay representative for auy district in the Diocese. QUALIFICATION OF LAY ELECTORS. Every layman of the age of 21 years or upwards, who shall have signed the declaration specified above, nhall be qualified to vote at the election of a lay representative for the district in which he may reside.
