FIRST DAY. MAIDEN PLATE, of 35 soys. ; entrance, 2 guineas ; weight for age j distance, one and a half mile ; for horses that never won an advertised pri^e exceeding £10. DISTRICT HANDICAP, of 80 soys, with a sweepstake of 2 soys. each ; the second horse to receive amount accruing from sweep. Nominations, with 2 guineas enclosed, to be received by the Secretary up to 10 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the lOfch day of January. Weights to be declared in the "Tuapeka Times" of 12th January, and in the "Daily Times " of 14th January. Acceptances, with 2 guineas, together with sweepstake of 2 guineas, to be received by the Seci'etary before 10 o'clock p.m. on Monday, January 16, 387 L Distance; 2 miles. HANDICAP TROTTING RACE, of 30 soys. ; distance, 3 miles ; entrance, 2 soys. ; no weight under lOst. 111 b. HACK SELLING RACE, of 20 soys.; entrance, £1 10s. ; one mile heats ; no weight under lOst. The winner to be sold by public auction for £20 ; The surplus (if any) to go to the Race Fund.
SECOND DAY. LADIES' PURSE, of 30 guineas ; distance, 2 miles ; gentlemen riders ; welter weights. TOWN PLATE, of 75 soys. ; entrance, 4 guineas ; distance, two and a half miles ; weight for age. PURDLE RACE, of 40 soys. ; welter weights ; distance, two and a half miles ; over nine flight of hurdles, three and a half feet high ; entrance, 2 guineas. FLYING HANDICAP of 50 soys. Nominations, with one guinea enclosed, to be received by the Secretary np to 10 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, January 10th. Weights to be declared in the "Tuapeka Times" pf the 12th, and in the "Daily Times" of January 14th. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Mares and Geldings allowed 31b. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the Programme shall be final. No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this Programme (post entry races excepted) unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber to the. Race Fund of not less than two guineas. Entries to be received by the Secretary, at his office, Peelrstreet, Lawrence, up to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, 18th January. Entrance money, enclosed with name, age, and pedigree (If any) of the horse, a,ncl name of owner and colours of the lider. Any Jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined £2. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes, for expenses. Hcrses walking oyer will receive 50 per pent, of the stakes.
