LAWRENCE TOWN COUNCIL.
The first meeting of the new Town Council took place in the Council Chambers on the evening of Monday, the Bth inst. There were present — the Mayor (11. Bastings, Esq.) and Crs. Mears, Barnett, Havrop, Williams, and Uren. The minutes of the last meeting being read and confirmed, the Mayor congratulated the new councillors on the honour they had to sit as councillors at that table. Ue thought the present year would prove a very important one.
