SIR, — We herewith deposit the sum of Twenty Pounds, as required by the Mining Leases Regulations of Otago, and we agree, if our application (the particulars of which are hereunder set forth), be investigated, that such sum shall in all respects be held subject to the terms of such regulations, and that upon the approval of this application, we will execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. — We have the- honour to be, Sir, obedient servants, WILLIAM LIVINGSTON, (For self and party). General remarks. — This is the ground that was originally applied for by Fenton and Co., for whom a lease was issued, but was cancelled, as Fenton and Co. failed to execute, vide Gazette (Provincial),, 18th May, 1870. The applicants purchased from Fenton and Co., and have occupied the ground with Miners' Righta for considerable time. The aboye application, and any objections thereto, will be heard before me at Lawrence, on the 15th day of June, 1870.
