THE THAMES.

The Whau G.M.C.— On Saturday last, after about four and a half days' crushing, during which 32 trucks of stone were crushed, yielded 79 o^s. of gold, and the crushing at the company's own battery was equally good. London and Liverpool. — At a trial crushing of this company, there were about 5| tons of stone put through, and the result obtained was 2 ozs. of retorted gold, which melted about li oz.

The Union Claim. — The crushing was commenced on Monday morning, and on the tables being cleaned down yesterday there was 74 ozs. 4 .dwts. of squeezed amalgam on hand. The Inverness. — We are able to report another rich find in the Inverness mine. Yesterday about 121bs. weight of good specimens ■were taken out of

the 100 feet level. These specimens were found in the lode about 70 feet up from the main level under rather peculiar circumstances. When taking up the stope the lode was fouud to become broken up, and the manager being under the impression that it took a jump into the back wall, took a level in to search for it. After driving for a short distance along a small mullock vein, he met with a white leader about twenty inches thick, apparently making towards the other. Not finding the lode which he was in search of, the stope was carried up straight, and in a few feet it was found to make again as solid as before, and those fine specimens just referred to, most of which contain a large proportion of coarse gold, was the result. The Dublin. — The crushing for the Dublin at the Hauraki battery is going on steadily, and continues to show up well for a good payable return of over an ounce to the ton. The shareholders of this claim have by their industry and perseverance made a good dividend mine of their claim, although the yields seldom exceed an ounce to the ton, and the reef on which they are working is by no means a large one.
