Regu t lation, of the Otago Goldfielda Rules and Regulations, for the use of the natural channel pf Munrp ? s Gully, for the distance therein as, a mam tailrace, subject to the undermentioned con 7 ditions. A hearing of all parties interested in said application took place on the 9th and 16th March current, at which it was ! decided to grant the Application, which was accordingly done, and the conditions approved of by me. We, the undersigned, being a majority in number of persons from whose claims water or tailings flow to a common outlet at Munro's Gully, hereby make application for the. natural channel of Munro's Gully as a main tail-race, commencing opposite Frank Pollock's residence area, and terminating opposite Mr. Drapper's store ; and we declare the following particulars to be true in every respect : — The length of such race is about t wo miles. B. — Objections to the above application must be lodged with the Warden within thirty days from the date hereof. REGULATIONS. Ist. That no artificial • cpi\sto action will be m ( a.de to form this tail-race, but that the gully will be used in its. natural state as a main tail-race. 2nd. That existing rights w.ill not be affected by the creation of the gully into a main tail-race. 3rd. Any person, or, persons may. take up and work ground in the tail race on condition that such person or persons stall not claim any compensation for damage done to their workings by tailings, or water flowing into^ or dow.n the race. 4th. Any person or perspns may use the main, tail-race, and cpnstruct, head pr tail-race^ within the area specified, on condition that .they shall not claim any compensation for damage done, ip. such head or tail-races by tailings or water flowing into or down the main tail-race. sth. In any case, where it may be necessary to determine the width of the main tail-race by measurement, the starting point shall be the western bank of Munro's Gully, and from thence three chains in a south-easterly direction.
