ENLARGEMENT OF THE TELEGRAPH OFFICE.

(To the Editor- of the Tuapeka Times.) " Let him that is without sin amongst youcast the first stone at her."— Jesus Christ Sir, — Tt must, I am- sure, be apparent to every person who is at all acquainted with mattei's in this place that a deal of bad feeling exists hereabouts, which is not only discreditable, but so highly injurious that it should" be put down with a strong hand. The best of the joke, if I may so speak, is that all those who habitually throw stones are residents inglass houses, hence my text above written. In your last issue I perceived a letter signed " Builder," in which Mr. Buck is charged with partiality towards another builder, vis., Mr. W. Mears fthe wicked Town Councillor.) Now, being in the building line myself, T, after reading the letter of "-Builder," began to wonderwho the writer could be, and I arrived at the conclusion that it did not eminato from anyone who has or ever had any claim to the title of builder, unless tne erecting of a few frames for straining calico on, and being agent for two or, three undertakers, entitles a person to sign himself " Builder." The tenor of the letter leads me to think that " Builder " has some feeling against Mears, and that his thns bringing hi*. (Mears) name before the public is togratify that, feeling. If "Builder" is the person I beliove him to be, he is- an old resident, and hasperhaps paid as much to the revenue as any inhabitant — as the records of the* R. M.'s Court will show. I may state in conclusion that the Post Master did invite and receive tenders for the erection of the Telegraph Office. As " Builder" is not a builder, it is not to« be wondered at that he was not asked to> compete. — lam, &c, A BuiLDESU Lawrence, March 9, 187.0..
