TUAPEKA HOSPITAL.
On Tuesday evening the usual monthly meeting of the Committee of the above institution was held in the Assembly Rooms. There were present — H. Bastings (President), and Messrs. Herbert, Keen, M'Kinlay, Simpson, Abel, M'Beath, Smith, M'Swiney, Thompson, Drs. Stewart and Halley, and the Secretary, Mr. Hayes. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. There was no correspondence. The Resident Surgeon's report for the month was received and adopted. Complaints were made as to the quality of the bread supplied to the Hospital, and were remedied. Messrs. Armstrong and Twigge were appointed auditors for the ensuing year, . subject to the approval of the general committee. Mr. Bastings asked if any steps had been taken towards the compiling of the annual report. Mr. Hayea said he had received a tender from the proprietors of the Ttjapeka Times to print them for £5. Mr. Simpson proposed, and was seconded by Mr. Herbert, "That the Secretary be instructed to have it put in hand at once." Dr. Stewart asked permission to have some labels printed for the bottles in the Hospital, which was granted. Messrs. Nicolson, Pressley, and M'Beath were appointed for the first visiting committee. The Secretary stated he was very much in need of a case to keep the papers of the Hospital in. Moved by Mr. Keen, and seconded by Mr. Simpson, " That the Secretary be empowered to get one at a cost not to exceed £2 10s." There being no other business the meeting terminated.
