TUAPEKA MOUTH.

(To the Editor of the TuapeJcaTimes.) Sib, — Timothy's enquiry, directed to the clergymen of Lawrence, in your last week's issue, ia entitled to an answer, which on the part of the Wesleyan Church I readily furnish. Tuapeka Mouth is one of the places on the Wesleyan Ccrcuit plan, and up to the end of last June was visited, every f ourtli Sabbath by local preachers, weather permitting, and once in three months by the Circuit minister. My first visit was Wednesday, May 12th, and though the kindness both of Mr. Taylor and Mr. Brown was abundantly shown, my impression was, that beyond three or four families, people were not very eager to hear the Word of God. The company was small, but it was said ray visit was not expected, so I determined the next time I went I would advertise the service. At our June quarterly meeting we were obliged to discontinue the Sabbath work, partly because we had work for the 'locals ' nearer home ; and partly because we had no money to pay for the horse hire to the place. My visits I waa at liberty to continue, so 1 appointed myßelf for August 1 11 th, but was prevented from taking it through sickness. On the last plan I placed November 3rd, for the journey, but being called to the District meeting earlier than I expected, that date found me sailing to Canterbury. This two-fold missing has been a source of disappoint to me, but any one acquainted with our system will know that a minister's time is so filled up that he can't be everywhere just as his heart would prompt him. I shall be up on the next plan, all being well, of which due notice shall be given, and if " Timothy "is really anxious that his district should be worked by us, and will either see me or write to me, I shall be glad to afford him all the help I can. [ wish he had put his name in full as it would have shown more clearly his sincerity in this matter. — I am, <fee. William Keall, Wesleyan Minister;
