COROMANDEL.

(From the "Thames Times" correspondent, September 23rd.) Morgan's party (the Eoyal Oak) have struck some very good leaders, which I believe will turn out Aveli Tokatea ISTo. 2, the Brian Bom, and the Port Phillip claims are expected to strike M'Leod's and Morgan's leadcr-s every shift. The leaders found in. the Harbour View look splendid. The run is different to those fqund by the two latter gentlemen, The same leaders are going into the White Cross claim. In the Lord Ashley, "Colorado, I and George Peabody claims the ahare- | holders' are in great hopes of securing M'Leod's leader and those found at the bottom of Drummond Haye's Creek. On the eastern side the Maoris are making great progress with their tunnel. The new leaders found in Haye's Creek were discovered by the M'lsaaes on Saturday. A rush took place on Monday which caused hundreds of miners to run frantically, intending to peg out half the country ere any of the paperrcollared gents put in an appearance. As the leaders run north-.east and south-west, all those wishing to be peg and peg with the prospectors (M'lsaaes) had to t^ive up the idea, as the Peabody, El Dorado, and Ashley claims have secured tho choice ground from the mafn range down to the boundary of the Nil Desperandum. I came to the conclusion which a great many more have done, that' the junction of MacLeod's and M'lsaac'a leaders will be in the spur held by the Greorge Peabody, El Dorado, and Lord Ashley companies,, The Eoyal Mint lease stands a splendid show. South of the Kapanga, and east of the Alpha and Omega claim, on the line of leaders running south-west, the Trentham lease ia taken up by Beilly and party, through wMch leases runs G-illighan's Creek, where £700 of specimens were picked up.
