The rate of discount is at 3 per cent. The third series o£ colonial -wool sales took place in London, commencing on the 12th. 6166 bales were catalogued, and a large attendance of foreign and English buyers were present. The biddings were considered spirited. The closing rates of May, June, and July, were fully maintained. The arrivals to date were 186,674 bales, to wtiich must be added 25,000 bales, mainly Port Phillip, held over from previous sales. Victorian fleece and scoured, Is. 6|d. G-reasy, 9|d. Australian, copper quoted at £77 to £77 10s. per ton. The exports to New Zealand amount to £167,535, showing an increase of £77,231. New Zealand fives 1891, 90 92 ; do. sixes, 1891, March — September, 104 to 106.
