THE NEXT SUPERINTENDENT.
(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Times.)
Sir, — I am sure every one will be rejoiced if Mr. Wilson Gray consents to become the Superintendent, and J don't think any one will dare to withstand him ; but if he refuses, "who are we to get to properly support the miners ? I know of only one man "who has the requisite knowledge and experience, and who, although he has done some curious work for the Government, is, I believe, right honest. That is Mr. Vincent Pyke, and I think we might go further and fare worse, that is if Mr. Gray won't stand. I think it is iuigh time we got somebody to speak up
for the minera, who are in danger of being squashed between the squatters and cockatoos, and I don't know which is worst. 1 hope you will publish this in your valuable paper, and continue to tight for the poor diggers. — I am, &c, Atjrifekods. Dunstan Creek, Sept 24th.
