OP THE tcjapeka; mutual benefit SIEOCOSriD J^JSntfTTAX, K,ErOK,T, 1869. The Committee have much pleasure in being able to congratulate, the Shareholders upon the continued success of the Society. It will be seen by the Financial Statement annexed hereto, that the Committee have borrowed from private Sources the sum of £1250, at a -fauvrate of interest, thereby enabling them to meet the steady demand for money. In drawing attention to the Financial Statement of the past twelve months, your Committee have to report that the total number of Shareholders at present constituting fcbe Society is 91, representing a total of 491 Shares, of which (exclusive of last year's Investments) 56 have "been borrowed, the Premiums on which have realised £939 — being an average of £16 15s. 4d. ; while the Investments for the year amount to £3357 16s. 2d. It will be seen upon reference to the Balance Sheet, that the Profits of the Society for the year amount to £1422 ss. 10d., which, when divided by the number of Shares in the Society (491), will show a net profit per Share of £2 17s. lid. The value of each of such Shares at date, as may also be seen by Statement, is £12 os. 2d., a result highly satisfactory, and affording a sufficient proof of the great success and efficiency of the Society, which is further confirmed by the fact that the profits of this are at* least 30 per cent, over those of the previous year. In conclusion, your Committee beg leave to state that they have continued to exercise a due amount of caution in regard to the securities offered for their acceptance. -HOEACE BASTINGS (On behalf of the Committee).
