EVENING SITTING.
Petitions against the return of Messrs. Petchell and Watt at Riverton, and Messrs. Fullarton and Black, Waikouaiti, were presented.
Major Richardson, Messrs. Carr Young, Watt, Smith, Mason, Beetham, and Herbert were appointed to draw up standing orders.
Major Richardson, Messrs. Beetham, R. B. Martin, Dewe, and Rev. Mr. Coffey were appointed to inquire into the disputed elections.
On the Bth inst. the Synod met again, when Mr. Smith moved " That Bishop Jenuor should be confirmed Bishop of Dunedin if in three months there wa/» no fresh charge -of Ritualism made against him." He supported his motion in a long and eloquent speech, which pressure of advertisements compels us to hold over.
