The Eev. J. R. Randall, Newbury, has been appointed Bishop of Christchurch. A man named Steward has confessed to a murder committed more than seventeen years ago. The victim was his wife, and her mangled remains were found scattered abcut a plantation, and on the roadside near Norwich, England. The discharged Government operatives at Woolwich, England, are to be sent to Queensland. £1600 has been already collected for this purpoße.
