(Gnashes his teeth, and grins a ghastly grin.) And there are others I am. itching to thrash, if in the meantime i am not bound over to keep the peace. At all events I'll make sure of you. (Pulls his nose.) Chapel (out of breath) : Help, help. Will no one — rescue me — from this — maniac ? Macskin'em (continuing to pummel Chapel) : You may cry for help ; but (whack) I've secured the door ; and (whack) I'll break every bone in your body (whack, whack, whack). Chapel : Help, murder. Voice without : Open the door, or I will break it in. (J3oor is shaken violently.) Chapel: Help! Quick, or he will murder me. (i)oor is burst open.) Enter Anvil, Last and TyjpesAnvil (to Macskin'em) : Tour row-, ardly cur, why don't you give the man, fair play ? (Drags him off Chapel.) Macskin'em : Hands oft', or I'll serve you in the same way (rushes at him). . Anvil:, No you don't. I'm a little man, but I'm more than your uuitch.. (Lays him on liis back.) Last : Quick ! bring a rope. Tie his hands and feet, and send him to the Lunatic Asylum by the next coach. Types (who is afraid of -receiving his cheque) slily hands Last a rojje and immediately evaporates. Then follows a scuffle between Mac&kin'e^,' Anvil and Last, in the midst of which The curTdin falls.
