SECTARIANISM.
(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Time*.) Sib, — It is -frith regret that I have observed a feeling of intolerance and sectarian bitterness rising among us, still I hoped that it would soon I>e repressed by the good sense of thecommunity. It is unfortunate that the Rev. Mr. Martin should have deliberately encouraged this evil by excluding the Catholic children attending the school from participation in the treat which the fragments of the late tea meeting supplied. Now-, sir, it does seem ungracious; nairowminded^ and unjust to first ask support from Catholics, and, when it is freely given, turn round and deliberately irwulfe and - annoy them. Worse ; it is introduce irig a factious feeling among the - children, and creating class d&tinetioiia. I trust Mr. Martin will at* once, learn irom the, general indignaHoa-iMt-be- - haviour has created that Twspeka is no place for persons of iSiLurphyite ten- . . aencies. X* present we all live rerj , ; I coro&«"tertrty together, agreed to differ* iuuuLever ready to assist one. another; but unless a change takes plice in My. Martin's mode^ of treating his Catfiotic^neighbours this. comfbrtabla-siits^oT things will soon come "to an end. — I. s am, &c, A. GtXßOxiCk
