(Compiled from the " Daily Times.' ) The B.S. Mataura arrived in Wellington on the 21st. She left Panama on the 21st of October; and arrived at Opara on the Bth of November; and left on the 10th. On 24th October William Johnstone, a fireman, fell from the rail into the sea, but was not missed till it was too late to save him. When leaving Opara, J. Smith, a seaman, fell overboard from the forecastle, but every effort to save him was unavailing- On 18th November the engines were stopped 24 hoiiM ovring to an accident to the machinery. The Queen has returned home, and is at Balmoral. Her health is partially re&tored. Parliament was prorogued till the 24th November. The Revising Barristers are hard at work every where refusing votes to women. A dissolution is expected to take place soon. Several leading Ministerial seats are to be contested, even Lord Stanley's. Sir John Dean P;tul is dead. Dr. H. H. Milman, Dean of Saint Paul's, poet, critic ap.d historian, is ateo dead. The Irish Hierarchs are commencing to fight over tho disestablishment of the Irish Church. Tlip Queen of Spain escaped to France with the King Consort, four childi'en, Don Sebastian, and the Minister of State, on September the 30th. Madrid is tranquil. The Provisional Jynta is composed of four seats in permanence. Prim and Serraao have entered Madrid. Barcelona ha 3 pronounced against the Qnaen. The election f cV^h^Oonstitntional Cortes by • universal snffrage commenced on October Ist. Orders for arming the Militia and th.3 National Guard have beon issued. The new Groverbmenfc were congratulated by the English residents. The ohief commercial firms an Andalu3ia offered the' Government a loan of IGO million reals. There was an upward tendency on the TBourse. A frightful explosion 'touic place at the Green Pit of tho^Tew British Iron Company, near Ruabon Station, North Wale 3. Ten men were_ killed, and eleven seriously injured- Serious accidents have occurred uu the London and North Western Railway, near Rugby. Several parsons were killed and injured.
