Lancaster, Beaumont, Will serve mares this season in the DISTRICTS of BEAUMONT & TEVIOT "Lord Palmerston is a jet black horse, 3 years old, stands 16| hands high, and is possessed of strong bone and good action. When one year old took 2nd prize in Tokomairiro, 1866 ; in 1867 took Ist prize at Dunedin and 2nd in Tokomaiiiro, as a two-year-old. Pedigree : Sire, the celebrated horse, " Lord Paisley," bred by Mr. John Millar, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and imported by Mr. Robert Millar, of Tokomairiro ; dam, chestnut mare "Nancy," imported by Mr. Hogg to Tasmania, and now the property of W. J. Dyer, Esq. She has been the gainer of many prizes. TERMS, £4 ; GROOM'S FEE, ss. All mares to be paid for before the end of January, L 869. 500 acre paddock for mares free of charge ; and every care taken without responsibility. THE CLYDESDALE ENTIRE HOESE "RISING STAR," TTTILL Travel this season in the MOUNT BENGER DISTRICT. " Rising Star " is a beautiful dark bay horse, stands seventeen hands high, is seven years old, and was got by that renowned imported horse, "Reformer." Dam, " Flora," a remarkably fine mare, imported. "Reformer," a rich bay with black points, and stands seventeen hands high. He gained the Highland Society's First Prize at Perth, in 1852, as a yearling. In 1856, at Melbourne, the Port Phillip Farmer's Society's First Prize, beating "Clyde" (Mr. J. Wilson's) and four other imported sires. In 1857, at Melbourne, the Port Philip Farmers' Society's First Prize, beating "Clyde" and twentyfive others ; at the same meeting won the Champion Cup, value, £30, as the most perfect animal exhibited. He has also taken a number of local prizes, and his stock have been successful as prizetakers. "Rising Star" will stand every Monday at My. Patrick's Spylaw Hotel, Moa Flat, where good grass paddock accommodation will be provided, free of charge, for mares from a distance. He will also stand at Mr. John Low's, Coal Creek, every Saturday, and will travel the Teviot and neighbourhood during the other days of the week. Got by old Prince Charlie, imported from Scotland by Messrs. J. and M. Macintosh, Victoria, out of an imported mare, by Blackleg, who has gained many prizes in Dunedin and Taieri open shows.
