WARDEN'S COURT.
(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., R.M.)
"Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The objection to the applications of Messrs. Fitzgerald, Michael, Hogg, M'lntyre, Pope, and Scott were heard, when Mr. Campbell, who appeared for the objector, Love, stated that the objections were all withdrawn with the exception of Fitzgerald. He stated that the miners were all of opinion that gold existed on the ground referred to, but were not prepared with positive evidence in reference to. the matter. Messrs Love and Martin were examined, when it was clearly proved that gold did exist on the land applied for .by Fitzgerald, 760 yards from the creek. The "Warden remarked that he was satisfied o£ the fact that gold did ( exist on Fitzgerald's" claim, and that if he got the land he-would have to go a considerable way back? As to M'lntyre's claim, . he* was ,of opinion that there"* was no gold, as the rock was cropping out in all directions. . He stated that he would communicate with the proper quarter in reference thereto, and matters- would, soon be settled. He warned them that if they made any^insproVem^nt^Jij would be, entirely at their own risp^^Mtf^fl though he would protnisejj^^^^M mend' still they were nof^^^^^H the ground, for, although the^^^^H ment generally carried oU lJ^^^^^| tions 'of the. Wardens, in Tma^^^H they acted differently.
