RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, LAWRENCE.
(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., R.M.) Monday, 19feh October. David Wilson and another were brought up charged with the venial fault of excess of devotion to the Jolly God. The dictum of the Bench opened their eyes to the fact that pains and penalties other than that of a recovery are to be dreaded. They were fined in the moderate sum of 103. each, and costs of Court, with the usual alternative. WAEDEN'S COURT. (Before Warden Simpson, Esq., R.M.) Thursday, Oct. 22nd. Creeth v. Livingston. —The plaintiff in this case is registered manager of Bolkinghorn Gold Mining Claim, registered. In .April, 1867, the ground was sold under three distress warrants issued by the Resident Magistrate, Lawrence, and .same was bought by Livingston and party, who held the ground e\ er since. The present action was instituted to have the -parties in possession .ejected, and also claiming L 2,000 as damages for trespass. After hearing a great many knotty points discussed evidence was led by the parties, Trhen after due7Uon3itler3tion the War--den give judgment for- plaintiff, ordering defendants to give up possession. Defendants to .nay. Is. damages, and Court expenses'.
