WOODEN PARASOLS.
A writer in the " Queen" says : — The wooden parasols, which have been so much the rage in Paris, are slowly creeping over here. I have seen one or two, and I have also seen small wooden screens (no bigger than hand screens) used as parasols. As the wooden parasols are decidedly a novelty, I must describe one. They are painted to represent peacocks' feathers, each feather being a separate rib, like that of a fan. By ingenious mechanism they can be fastened into the form of a parasol, and can also be folded up into a small compass as a fan, which purpose answer admirably. They alsp can be turned into a variety of things, and have joints by which they shade the wearer on any side where the sun is too powerful.
