MOUNT BENGER.

{From a Correspondent.) Last evening the resident in this locality showed their esteem for our Warden, Mr. Hickson, by entertaining him at a public sapper, given in the Concert-room of Messrs. Woodhouse and Gordon's Hotel. The tables were vary tastefully laid out, and well filled, the company doing ample justice io the viands provided. The following is a copy of the testimonial presented on the occasion to Mr. Warden Hickson. It bore over two hundred signatures, and was very neatly engrossed on vellum j — To J. S. Hickson, Esq., R.M., and Warden of the Mount Benger district. We, tie undersigned residents of Mount Benger district^ desire to express our sincere regret at being deprived of your valuable service.! as Wardam and Magistrate of this district. We also desire to testify to the very able and efficient manner in which you have at all times so zealously, fearlessly, and .impartially discharged the duties pertaining to your various offices during your appointment in the district, and to express a hope .that, whatever your future career may be, your gentlemanly conduct and integrity, and the talent and ability you 'possess, may he as highly and deservedly appreciated and esteemed as <|hey are by your friends 1 and well-wishera* , • • | Mr. J. Beighton occupied the chnir, and Olv. J. M'Laughlan" the rico-chair. The testimonial was, in 'a neat and effective address and manner, kanded to Sir. Hickson by Mr. W. Bigney,'Of the Horseshoe Bend.
