ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL

(Condensed from the Argus.) The European news by the Bombay was telegraphed from Adelaide to Melbourne on the 6th July. The news by AngloIndian Line is to June 9th. The steamer Surat met with an accident on her voyage to tjhe I^ed sea. She broke the blade of her screw, which was driven through the stern. The saloon was, in consequence, filled with water. The accident occurred 400 miles from Galle. She put back to that port. All the passengers were kept at the pumps night and day. Fears were entertained for the safety of the Benares, from China, which was much overdue.
