Romantic Suicide in- Birmingham — An inquest was held in Birmingham respecting the death of a young girl, named Ann Maria Pyne. • Reversing the usual order of things, the young girl, who was just entering on her teens, had been paying her addresses with unusual ardor to a smart butcher boy, who had only completed his fifteenth year; but the young man's affections lying in another direction, he coldly spurned her, an# ordered her about her business. She bore all his. rebuffs, and, as he said, was continually turning up wherever he went. The- girl's mother came to know of the affair, and in her haste was said to have i threatened to kill her child if she persisted in following the boy. This accumulation of misfortunes was too much, the- girl swallowed three packets of vermini powder, and died within an hour.
