ORIGINAL POETRY.
" TO & H. FULSOME. OB BEADING BIS POEM OF DKDICATIOIT. Thy dedication was sublime ; Thy every -word a priceless gem, And to the utmost end of time ■Will grace thy Muse's diadem. TOutioweriog genius was displayed ; 'What deep, profound and mighty mind. No flattery was there conveyed, Bat simple truth, pure as the wind. How tenderly, and yet withal With conscious power, thou criticised _ <■' The Poetess, whose book, though small, Has even thy great self surprised. ■What bounding impetus was called Into her being by thy pen. Bat heavens ! she may be appalled At thy vast power ! oh spare her, then ; And let thy guiding influence soar -. _ In airy circles o'er her head, . . And she will bless thee more and more, And moarn thy loss when thou art dead. . ... Henceforth, sweet Poeteis, thy name Is "Primrose, fairest Queen of Song," For " G.H." does with tact proclaim Thee such; and may thy reign be long. But vain and hopeless is the prayer ; For. he is doomed to shake the world : JBBs Mote's pinions cleave the air Twixt heaven and earth, with scroll unfurled. Gbowub.
