MEETINGS OF WETHERSTONES SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The Committee met on Tuesday evening, the 14th mat. Present : — Messrs. M'Swiney (Chairman), Hart, Mooney, i Ledgerwood, Herd, and Ogilvie (hon. I Seq). A letter from Mr. Hislop, in reference to school books, was read. j Proposed by Mr. ■ Hart, and seconded by Mr. Ledgerwood, " That Mr. Hislop's i letter be received." Carried. j A letter from Mr. S Felpe, of Wether- j stones, enclosing a L 5 cheque for the benefit of the school funds, was read. i Proposed by Mr. Ledgerwood, and seconded by Mr. Herd, " Tha a vote of thanks be given to Mr. Felpe for his handsome donation to the school funds, and that the Secretary be requested to write to Mr.< Felpe, thanking him. Car. ried unanimously. Proposed by Mr. Mooney, and seconded i by Mr. Hart, |'That the Secretary be requested to wait on the teacher and ask him to give a statement of the classification of the scholars." Carried. The meeting then adjourned, Another meeting of the Committee Was held on Thursday evening, the 16th inst. Present : — All the members. | Proposed by Mr, Ogilvie, v and seconded by Mr, Herd, "That the Chairman be I requested to write to Dunedin about a ! harmonium for the Sixpenny Headings,.! and that Mr. Marriott be also requested to do the same." Carried. i Proposed by Mr. Ogilvie, and seconded by Mr. Herd, " That the former minute in reference to the scale of fees be rescinded, and that .the fees to be charged shall' be as follows :— For the first and second classes, sixpence ; for the third and fourth classes, ninepence ; for the fifth and sixth classes, one shilling ; and that no higher fee than one shilling shall be charged." Carried. The meeting-then adjourned;
