BLUE SPUR.
(From ottb Own Correspondent.) The Committee of the Church of Eng-. land met in the Sohool on Tuesday even-. ing, Mr. Richard Williams in the. chair. Members present — Mr. Thomson. (Secretary), Messrs. R. G. Fulton, R. Grieve. T. F. Morris, and J. Hall. The Chairman said they were met to. consider a proposition made to them from the Rev. Sir. Martin, which had stood over from last meeting. He should have been glad to have seen a larger attendance to consider such an important matter aa that which had called them togetherMr. Martin made them a proposition to this effect, viz., to give them a fortnightly supply for £100 per annum towards the Suatentation Fund ; or, if only iJSO per annum, he would give them a monthly supply, These, said the Chairman, are the terms, gentlemen, which you have now to oonsider They are now before you, and you should approach the consideration of them in a manner befitting the circumstances. Mr. Thomson regretted very much that Mr. Martin had put the Committee in this position. He (Mr. Thomson) thought that considering the small number of Church of England members, that we could not possibly raise more than £o0 per annum ; ' and for this amount he thought that, considering all things, , and that if we wanted to " plant " the Church of England on the Blue Spur, we should have a fortnightly Bupply. The meeting now assumed a con versa? tional .turn, but the members were quite unanimous concerning the ways and means ; and that owing to the fact that two other denominations occupied the ground, they saw no possibility of raising more than the Bum above mentioned.
