Baldowa, 9.5 1 Geranial, 7.8 2 Francais, 7.4 3 All started. Won by- a length. Time —2min 8 3-ssec. TRENTHAM NOTES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 15. The weather could hardly have been improved upon at Trentham this morning. The tracks were all very fast. The extreme outside of the course proper, the inside of the trial grass and the tan tracks were all available. One or two visiting horses have arrived. Tanadees and Star Ranger, on the tan, ran a mile in lmin 46 3-ssec, the first half occupying 53sec. Exhibition ran six furlongs on the outside of the course proper, and had enough at the end. Jemidor trotted and cantered on the tan. Laughing Prince was held back to Bourse at the end of a half-mile sprint on the course proper, in 52 4-ssec. Zarisee, on the trial grass, galloped half a mile in 50$sec. Priceless and Tone finished on terms on the course proper at the. end of half a mile in 50sec—a smart effort. Climax took 54sec for four furlongs on the grass. Orchid did light work, and still shows slight signs of lameness, but has improved since Thursday. Mandane beat Doe over half a mile on the tan in 52 3-ssc.c. Minotus and Tannadicc ran sfx furlongs on the tan in lmin 22ssc. Wit and Historic covered half a mile on the tan in 52sec. Hynanna and Outfit jumped off at the mile post on the course proper, keeping together till the straight. II ynanna drew away and ran considerably over a mile in lmin 45$sec. It was really a good gallop, for the flags were very wide out. Panther was going easily at the end of half a mile on the tan in 52sec. Black Mint and Kilmezzo, on the tan, finished together at the end of six furlongs in lmin 18$see. Aston, on the outside, Hymill and Modern took lmin 17sec for six furlongs on the trial grass. Aston finished in front with Hymill beaten off, but it looked as if Aston could have done better. He is evidently more than useful. Misgovern, on the trial grass, ran five furlongs in lmin ssec. Vexatious was schooled over three hurdles by A. Hobson. Grand Knight did useful light work. He looks in good order, and a couple of smart sprints should bring him to his best. J. 11. Jefferd and E. George are expected with their teams to-day. F. D. Jones has cancelled his accommodation.
