BRITISH ISRAEL TRUTH.
To th« Editor. Sir, —My attention has been drawn to a letter that appeared recently in the “Star,” signed Hiram Ilickinbottom, and I have been urged by many to ignore it as only being a mixed-up jumble of cheap nonsense. The letter was supposed to be a reply to my letter, “A Marvellous Empire.” The writer made no effort to oppose the statements contained therein, and it is doubtful if he is able to do so. If the writer had not signed his name I should have passed it by. Hard words break no bones, and a little gentlemanly courtesy will do no harm. Personally, I have been a believer in the BritishIsrael Identity Truth for over forty years, and the more I read the mofe I believe that the British peoples comprising the English, Trish, Scottish, Welsh, and, in fact, the whole of the English-speaking people, are the Israel people so prominently referred to in the Bible and in the English Church Service as being a people who were to be richly blessed both spiritually and materially in these days in which we live. In the light of modern knowledge the reegonition of Israel’s identity assumes an altogether new significance, and is of w r orld-wide importance. The discovery that the British (Covenant people) are the Israel people throws invaluable light on the political, religious and scientific developments in the world, and especially so during the next few years. Moses, David, Isaiah, Daniel, Micah and Jeremiah all foretold that Israel (who were to change their name and become lost) would in the future be an invincible nation, and in this respect I am reminded of the Spanish Armada, Napoleon Bonaparte, William of Germany, and the hundreds
°f battles by land and by sea in which Britain has taken part and has never failed, with the one exception of the War of Independence between Britain and America, which has a good explanation. Israel, having changed her name in these days, was to become “The 1
Chief of Nations," be a great colonising race, would abolish slavery, be a lending and not a borrowing people nationally, a missionary people, holding the gates of her enemies, a monarchy and a descendant of David on the Throne, which shall last for ever, and many other characteristics. To me. and hundreds of thousands of British people who see with me, the two pictures blend -—they arc lost in each other. Britain is Israel; Israel is Britain. British Israel is not a church, nor even a sect. Adherents are to be found in all branches of the Christian Church. It was said by the prophets of old that Israel would be blind as to her identity, but when her blindness departs the discovery will become an eighth wonder of the world. I therefore trust that Mr Hiram Hiekinbottom will accept this view of British-Israelism in the spirit in which it is given. That he will take on a hobby, and investigate, when I believe that he will turn to our opinion.—I am. etc., J. RUSSELL BRUNT. P.S.-—lt is expected that possibly this year or early in 1928 that there will be a delegation to Australia and New Zealand from the British Israel Federation, London, they being possibly Rev Pascoe Goard and the Rev Merton Smith, Church of England clergymen, who can both speak with authority.— J. R. B. y
