WAIMAKARIRI TRUST ELECTION.
OFFICIAL COUNT OF THE VOTES. In connection with the election of commissioners for the Waimakariri River Trust, the official count of the votes for the Eyre, Cust and Waimakariri East subdivisions was completed yesterda}' by the returning officer, Mr C. W. Hervey. The official figures are: Evre—R. O. Dixon 197, F. L. Wright 37. ' Cust—ll. E. Evans 419, G. W. Wright 97. Waimakariri—Hon G. Witty 1352, W. P. Spencer 1172. The figures for the Christchurch subdivision will probably not be ready before Wednesday. The official count involves a great deal of work, as the rolls and each vote have to be checked.
