MANY THRILLS TO BE FOUND IN NEW DRAMA, “ FIREBRAND.”
TO BE SCREENED AT QUEEN S NEXT WEEK. A programme calculated to stir the At the Queen’s Theatre on Monday,‘when “ firebrand,” a rollicking Western comedy drama, starring Franklyn Fa'rnum, will head the bill, it would be difficult to envisage another film more completely and comprehensively filled with comthrills and sensation than " Firebrand,” a picture which is frankly melodramatic, pleasantly relieved with human interest, and spiced with some of the most daring ‘stunts” ever seen in a. film. Farnuni is one of the coolest stunt actors appearing on the screen, and lie can, moreover, act in a very convincing manner. The combination results in attractive photo-play, which possesses every essential for amusing diversion, and the production, from the viewpoint of photography, is rich in some fine outdoor “ shots.” Franklyn Farnum makes a likeable hero, and Ruth Langdon does excellent work in support. . • A Western Adventurer,” with William Fairbanks playing the title role, is another story of the great outdoors, likewise revelling in activities which seem to flourish exclusively in the Golden West, and full of action and romance from start to finish. The picture's outstanding feature is its sense of reality, for no matter how vividly sensational the events may he, still they appeal’ conspicuously feasible. A new screen villain is Introduced in Bud Kane, whose methods of conveying a plausible impression of super.-ylllainy savour of originality in its most artistic form. The leading lady is Miss Lamont, a delightful artist in every sense. The box plans are at Webley’s, where seats may be reserved.
