•In his report on the operations 'll the Wellington Fire Brigade last yea** the Superintendent states that the calls totalled 429, the highest recorded i/i the past ten years. The city, howe\ er, escaped any serious conflagrations. There were two cases in which damage exceeded £IO,OOO, the Dominion Motors and Louis Salek’s premises. Fires occurred on property of the estimated value of £1,151.524, and insurance involved was £777.584. The estimated loss covered by insurance was £78,720.
