The coroner’s jury at Montreal found that Ameen Laurand, owner of the Laurier Palace Cinema, with his assistant manager, Arie, and his head usher, Bazzv, were, criminally responsible for the death of seventy-eight children in the panic following the fire in the cinema on Sunday. The accused will be charged to-mor-row that children under sixteen were admitted to the cinema unattended by adults, contrary to the provincial law.
