MOORHOUSE AVENUE CHURCH OF CHRIST WELCOMES MINISTER.
The Moorhouse Avenue Church of Christ met on Thursday night last to welcome Mr G. 11. Earle and his wife, who have come from Melbourne to labour in Christchurch. The night was wet, and promised little in the way of a largely-attended meeting. Yet the people came along (•in fair numbers and manifested their warmth of heart in the welcome. Many expressions of congratulation and good wishes were made. The chairman, Mr 11. Ames, treasurer of the church, welcomed Mr and Mrs Earle. ! Mr 11. W. Crowe, the secretary of the church, welcomed the minister on be- ] half of the church, and Mr T. Fee on ! behalf of the. Christchurch Ministers’ j Association. Mr J. Crawford, on bej half of the St Albans Church of Christ, also conveyed greetings and a welcome. ! A telegram was received from the Doj minion Executive of the Churches of Christ conveying the. congratulations and good wishes of the executive. I Mr Earle, in responding to the wel- | come, expressed the wish that all would j enjoy a happy period of service to- ! gether, and that his life and work among them would measure up to their highest expectations, and that above all they would win the approval of God. Mr Earle will commence his ministry next Sunday, and will preach at both the morning and the evening services.
