AMALGAMATION PROPOSED

(Pxa pBE«f Association.) DUNEDIN, August 29. ’Hie executive of the Returned Soldiers’ Association resolved that a strong effort be made in conjunction with other associations to secure the consolidation of the Canteen Funnel, War Funds and various other funds of a like nature with the object of preventing further depletion of the aggregate sum and establishing a permanent fund, the annual interest on which would ho sufficient to meet the reasonable claims of distressed returned soldiers and their dependants, and that with the object of giving effect to the foregoing, the various authorities administering the funds be communicated with pointing out the advisability of such a course and asking their co-oper-ation. and that the association headquarters and branches be written to asking for an expression of opinion on this question.
