The Orient has, and is erecting, huge inchlstries equipped with modern maehmery worked, and to. be with Asiastic v labour. .The question sug : .'cests itself to my people -how can any English .npeaking country cope.with tbis menace unless amply protected to ' BaTe our industries and wage-earners •' brought down to the Afliastic level. • The Single Tax theory is absolutely one tax on the land and free trade. It is apparent it would not lessen the cost of .production, but reduce wages to ■ cope-with ARtastic labor, augmented • with modern machinery. There is still : hope, as lam credibly informed thesuc- '•••; cms of the Single Tax policy would de'vjwndnponthe world adopting it; this oucflt to insure sofety for a time. • ' iJttring my varied experience I ■found that quack recipes were harmful to those with imaginary ailments, but they have the option of becoming well and remaining here if they will follow my advice.
