TE PUKE ROAD BOARD.
MONTHLY! MEETING. H— The monthlylftieeting of the Te Puke Road Board, was held ot Saturday last, l there being present Messrs Messrs T. P. Lemon (Chairman), C. Barrow, F. Bostock, and A. F.'Pruden. The minutes /of. thdyn'evious meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was received from Mrs C. W. Grove, the Mount, asking that a fence on the road leading from the Mount wharf to the township be placed further back so as to allow access for wheel traffic.-It was resolved to reply that this matter was being attended to. An application was received from Mr James Smith for a progress payment of £40 in'connection with his contract on No. 3. road.-The Board decided, that it could not make a payment without a certificate from the Engineer, and the Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Spencer regarding the supervision of the work. After considerable discussion on the question op road maintenance, the Board resolved, in view of the fact that'.it had recently purchased a grader, to dispense with the services jof the roadman.Accounts having been passed for payment, tlie meeting adjourned. ■ i , : _>:
