REVOLTING CRIME.
: A WOMAN MURDERED. The crime presented many revolting fea- / . tures, and it is supposed that the ,'- \, girl was outraged prior to death. •,.. A youth employed in the office of ■V ; the deceased's brother has been •\ detained by, the police. Samuel - $ Eltoft, a packer, has been remanded. He confessed that he '^, l wheeled the girl's body to the ~'•', canal in which it was found. ' '■< . The deceased was 35 years of age' and was the manageress of a :• tarpaulin works. It was her custom to remain in the office till the end of the day. O'rie of the packers named Sum- ' / ner; in whom Miss Bradfield took "'' • 'a lively interest is missing. The police believs that Miss Bradfield was the victim of an attempted outrage, and that her . , ' resistance led to her murder, sic being stunned with a club and brutally beaten to death. '• In their hurry the murderers thrust the dead woman's urn- , brella into the sack with the d body and wheejed it in a hand<f cart through crowded streets for F threequarters of a mile to the canal.
