SOCIAL AT TE MATAI.
A successful social evening was '•held in the Lower Te Matai Schoolroom on Friday last. In spite of the inclement state of the weather the room was com- ,. fortably filled. A varied pro- , gramme was presented until , about 10 o'clock, when supper . "-was handed round. The ladies / had spared no pains to make this v jtem a success, and the school- , boys still say they made themisnviake of their lives .in not giving yit an encore. After supper the '.. room was cleared for dancing and games) which were ihdulged in , until 2 a.m. The floor was in excellent order, and first-class ; music was supplied by Messrs J. ' McCracken, W. Nelson, and A. .. D. , Sealy. Mr H. Watkins sup- . plied phonograph selections be- , tween some of the dances. The ' following is the programme pre- ' sented'during the first part of the \ ..evening. The part songs were well rendered by a choir of 24 ' voices,-under the conductorship 'of Mr A.. D. Seeley. Mrs J.
