IN THE LION'S DEN

PERFORMANCE OF A SINGER Berlin, Nov. 7. , Mme. Emily Denstinn, the well-known operatic favorite, sang selections from grand opera in a cage of 14 lions in Berlin. The performance was part of a moving picture drama. Many people witnessed the daring feat. A grand pianoforte was placed in the cage, and the prima donna and the lions, four of which were cubs, got into various prearranged attitudes under the eye of a woman trainer. One of the largest lay along the .top of the piano, and another on the floor close to the singer, who was quite calm and unafraid She sang the air from "Mignon" The animals were quiet, too, just fis though they had been enjoying an afternoon nap. When the music was over Mme. De?tinn hugged thehuge beast which was on the piano.
