The Te Puke Times FRIDAY, NOV 7. A COTTAGE HOSPITAL.
It will seen by an advertisement J.i another column that a grand concert is to be held on Wednesday next in aid of the fund that has already been inaugurated for the section of a cottage hospital in To Puke. The movement is one that should meet with the hearty support of every resident in the district, for the need of such an institution must be apparent to all. Accidents and illnesses are liable to occur at any moment, and the establishment of a' hospital in our midst would very often obviate the risk and discomfort attendant upon conveying a patient to Tauranga. The growth of the district warrants the erection of a building of this nature, and we feel sure that the public generally will co-operate heartily with those who have the matter in hand. It is not, of course, expected.that the money necessary will be raised at once, but it is hoped that the attendance at Wednesday's concert will be large enough to permit of a substantial sum being added to the fund, and, when the time is opportune, other entertainments will no doubt be held for the same purpose. Mr J; McDowell has already come to the front and has offered the use of {hisZhall, with electric lighting, free of charge for nextE[week's concert, and we are sure that all others who can give a helping hand will gladl/do so.
