COSRESPONDENCE.

. (To the Editor), Sir,-At a time when a scare is rife throughout the country owing to the prevalence of infectious diseases it may not be out or place to impress upon our bread, meat, and milk vendors the necessity of the utmost cleanliness being observed in the handling of these articles of consumption. Bread, for instance, should certainly be taken round to the door in a basket, so that customers may help themselves, instead of the loaves being carried in the hands, which may or may not be over-clean. It would certainly be more appetising. Trusting that the hint will be taken,—l am, etc., Housewife.
