Wellington, yesterday. The Department of Agriculture,. has reeived advice that New; Zealand potatoes may be import'-' ed iiuo the Commonwealthsb|h Australia on the following con--'! ditions, which will remain in force until Dumber ; ; !i, 1.91$ :— (a) That potatoes are accompanied by a certificate identifying the shipment'and certifying that the potatoes are grown in New Zealand and that they have been inspected and show no signs of the following diseases, viz., potato blight, potato canker, black scab, gall, or ell woim; (b) that they are packed in clean,, new bags; (c) that bags, crates, and other packages are marked with the name of country of origin ; (d) that upon inspection at the port, of discharge in Australia potatoes are found free from disease and are so certified by the plant quarantine officers; (e) that no importation shall take place without permission of the Minister given prior to the shipment of potatoes from New Zealand.
