TO CORRESPONDENTS.
Query. — The captain of the North Shore Naval Aitillery is Captain F. D. Fenton, not Captain Bennett. W. M. (Onehunga). — The Obsera'eb is not published exclusively in the interests of butchers, counter]' umpers, joiners, ad hoc germs omne, to which you seem to devote your undivided attention. Cannot you get a job at turning a mangle or carrying a mangle ? Opotiki. — Wo were not aware that the Auckland Evening Telephone was " shut up." At present it appears to be alive and kicking, but we are not responsible for rumours in Opotiki. Nothing like minding one's own business. The folloAving question has been referred to us for deeision — T. H. Hyland argues that the 14th regiment of Cavalry are Lancers, and J. C. Miller argues that the 14th Cavalry are Hussars. By the latest army list Aye find that the 14th Cavalry are Hussars, not Lancers Their station was Secunderabad, and depot Canterbury. Mr Miller is correct.
