COURSING.

" Let thy fleet greyhound urge his flying foe."

We shall gladly welcome contributions and infor.mation on Coursing matters, duly attested, by the signatures and addresses of the senders.

The Plunipton (England) meeting was brought to a, • conclusion on Dec. 13. The principal event of the meeting was the Brighton, Cup, winner, 250 soys and Cup value 50 soys ; second, 50 soys ; third, 20 soys. In the fifth round Subduer, by Clyto —Supplicant, on whom odds of 5 to 2 were laid, went down before Skilful Lady, by Misterton— Lady Lizzie, after a rather unsatisfactory trial. . The decider was rather one-sided, ; as Glen Bloom, by Misterton — Mary Hill, had all her own way with Skilful Lady^ Thus, two daughters of that successful dog Miatorton, the son of Contango, contested the, final course for this valuable stake. Grlen Bloom is the property of Mr J. Bussell, of Dundas Castle, and was purchased at the end of last season for the sum of 80 guineas. She previously distinguished herself at Plumpton last January, by dividing the Produce Stakes. - : We understand that Mr Thos. Macready's slut Swallow (imported) visited Mr Andrew Edwin's (Sydney) dog Mornington on Jan. 26th. Mornington is a son of Misterton, the most popular stud dog now in England. It will be seen by the paragraph we quote above from an English paper that two of his daughters ran the finish of the Plumpton Stakes on Dec. 13th last. If Mr Macready should be successful in rearing this litter of pups they should fetch good prices.
