At this sea-sou of the year it is absolutely neecessary the people consume plenty of ripe fruit, that is if they wish for the enjoyment of good health. Meat just now nauseates, and to consume it largely means inviting disease. Hitherto, -fruit in Auckland has only been obtainable to j:>eoplo of limited means at prohibitive prices, w.tu the result that the general public have had to endure physical suffering. This need no longer be the case, since Eaton, of the Go-operativo Stores, next Criterion Hotel. Hobson-streot, has entered into the fruit trade in addition to his provision business. At his stoves every description of fruit can now bo obtained at less than half the prices per lb. usually charged. He has now a large stock to select, from. Those who have tested the genuineness of his cbeap provision sales will be convinced that it is needless to quote prices in order to convince them of the lowprices now charged at the stores for fruit. Extra lines at present in cheese, butter, bacon, hams, jams, etc. Eaton just now invites the people to roll up with their hand-carts, wheelbarrows, and baskets. A £1 note goes a long way at his establishment.
